A Busy Afternoon On The CSX Main, Lots of "EMD" Power mixed in today

Railroadforums.com is a free online Railroad Discussion Forum and Railroad Photo Gallery for railroaders, railfans, model railroaders and anyone else who is interested in railroads. We cover a wide variety of topics, including freight trains, passenger and commuter railroads, rail news and information, tourist railroads, railway museums and railroad history.

Delivered stuff so was going back and forth therefore caught a BUNCH of trains. Interesting there was a LOT more EMD power mixed in that I'm used to seeing. Is this the norm? Or is this an anomaly? In addition to the sd70's there were older 645 powered sd40 Dash something's , pretty old stuff. Kind of strikes me I never see that period of GE's in actual use unless it's a really fringe short line like Owego & Harford. Some at Finger Lakes Railway, but the gp38 & sd60 class and gp40-2's STILL are regulars on both CSX and NS. Today? More than usual. Wonder why :)
