For the past 5 years the North Texas Chapter, NRHS has had the privilege of
hosting a 24 hour railwatching event at the Saginaw Depot over Memorial Day
weekend starting Friday evening and ending Saturday evening for a full 24
hours. In past years, we have had approximately 100 or more Railfans attend
this event to watch trains day and night. In addition, we schedule programs to include slide shows, speakers, clinics, videos and railroad trivia to keep
guests entertained between trains.

We did it AGAIN - Recently the Saginaw Depot was awarded the Cowcatcher Round Up Magazine "2011 Gold Rail Award" as the number ONE "Best Railfanning Spot" in the 4 state region and the "24 Hours @ Saginaw" event was awarded the number ONE "Best Rail Special Event"! Thank you Railfans!

ANNOUNCING the PHOTO NIGHT SHOOT for the 6th Annual "24 Hours @ Saginaw" 2011.

We are offering again a FWWR PHOTO NIGHT SHOOT at Hodge Yard on Friday evening,
May 27, 2011.
Times are from 9:30pm - 11:30pm. This event is limited to the first 20 guests
to sign up.

Mr. Patrick Phelan and Mr. Ken Fitzgerald will be your hosts.

For those who would like to participate in this unique event, please contact
Patrick Phelan directly at
ptphelan@gmail.com to sign up. Please DO NOT respond to Railspot or any other
list. Once he gets 20 names, the group will be closed. FWWR has a limit to the
group for safety reasons.

The group will meet at the Saginaw Heritage Center (the depot) 301 S. Saginaw
Blvd. in Saginaw, TX. Arrange into car pools and leave by 9 PM, with an expected
arrival at Hodge Yard by 9:15pm. 15-20 minutes to get everybody lined up. Once
setup, we should be able to do the shots relatively quickly. We figure 5-7
shots for each setup, with the first one or two as calibrations to pick the
right white balance and f-stop. A map to Hodge Yard from the depot will be
provided upon departure or an escort to follow.

A tripod is mandatory along with a cable release or other means of holding the
shutter open along with being able to manually adjust the aperture (F-Stops) on
your camera.

The shoot is expected to end by 11:30pm so people can get back to the Saginaw
depot for the midnight show.

Dress code is long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes or boots. NO flip flops or
sandals. Each person should bring a small flashlight to check the ground and to
see while setting their camera.

FWWR will provide a release that you must sign to enter the FWWR property, no
exceptions. Event is also subject to cancelation at FWWR request. WE ARE
GUESTS on their railroad, let's be on our best behavior.

If you want to attend at this event, please contact Patrick today! If you wait
until you arrive on Friday..it may be too late.

Again, Patrick email is:
