Finally, the 3rd Heritage Unit through here in the last week, I get to see!
UP 1989 visits this part of the KP for the first time ever, leading the 2011 Inspection Special running today as the SSSHN-10 from Sharon Springs, Kansas to Herington, Kansas. However it wont make it to Herington today do to a derailment on the UP Topeka Sub.

Maybe it will make Herington, very doubtfully though. Until then it will be held at St. Marys, KS for anyone on here chasing it.
Great shots! Now I've seen 2 with in 5 days

It was nice to finally see it out our way, as when it slipped away from the Colorado duty it semed to be glued to, it always went elsewhere
I guess it would depend on where this derailment is at to see how long it will be held
Nice shots you have there. I was only to catch it at Menoken RD MP 73 on the KS Sub. The train tied up in the main yard in Topeka.

Nice shot! Was there a derailment on the double track? That's what I heard the Salina Sub DS say to the crew
