Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Ben I am a fireman oiler/hostler for Union Pacific in Portland Oregon. My dad and uncle are both conductors for UP. My dad has been doing it since 1968.
Hello Ben! Glad to learn that you're in Portland. I live in Salem, and often travel to the "Rose City" to railfan. Your family has a great heritage with UP. Do you know Eric Hammerin? He's an engineer on the extra board. A good buddy of mine. A buddy and I drove down to the Albina yard a few weeks ago. Took photos of the big brick smokestack. (Glad they kept it).
