A few hours Saturday allowed me some trackside time in inner Houston. At Englewood Yard, it was very slow except for the hump yard. Here's one of the hump sets awaiting another round; they are now using the bottomless pool of SD40-2 units. That's a Remote Master in the middle, an old SP TEBU converted to be a Remote Master to control the other 3.

Sunday afternoon allowed me to drive a bit farther, all the way down to my old lunch haunt of Rosenberg, Tx. It did not disappoint......

1st up is a BNSF tanker unit block coming out of town. Used to be the Executive units were only on coal trains, lately they are seen on tankcar trains as well.

In a little while, another BNSF comes thru, this time east/southbound. The nice red CP unit on the lead was welcomed variety. Why do afternoon trains always have to be eastbound, forcing me to shoot into the sun?

KCS was pretty well represented Sunday, this WB rolled thru as the EB CP-led BNSF was still crossing (in the background). By crawling, he could allow BNSF to clear the crossing ahead.... and allow me to get several shots.

The WB KCS had a sizeable block of these 86' boxcars.

Before I headed out, UP finally cooperated with a late-sun-facing WB.
