While watching the coal train, NS 74G, backing down the P-Line/N-Line connector, this Eastbound train supprised me passing over the trestle! I had no idea this one was coming, hense the poorly composed shot!
This extreme zoom shows NS 74G on the P-Line in Bon Air getting ready to shove down the NS P-Line/N-Line connector track. This load of coal is heading over to Wilsonville to the Alabama Power Steam Plant.
This Southbound is seen approaching 15th Place SW on the far West end of downtown Birmimgham. I caught this train meeting a northbound at the 27th Street interlock on the opposite side of town. Apparently, they forgot to turn the lights back on after the meet.

This NS train has just exited the East End Division and taken the line that heads up to Sheffield, AL and beyond to Memphis. Red Mountain and St. Vincent Hospital are visible in the background.
NS 74G runs off of the line from Sheffield, AL onto the East End Division at 27th Street Interlock before hitting the NS P-Line Eastbound over in Irondale, AL. This coal train will then take the N-Line in Childersburg over to the Alabama Power steam plant at Wilsonville.
