From left to right: MP15DC heading into yard, will swing to the lead to the left. SD70M+ train approaching slowly, waiting for MP15DC to clear. GP38-2's+ train approaching at a good pace. MP15DC+Power set moving away and into engine facility.
Oakway #9031 leading a BN green SD40-2 on it's journey to the ports of Portland, Vancouver or Kalama.. This grain train had a whole rainbow mix of grain hoppers with the mineral red cars starting right behind the power.. It was interesting to see just two units pull this 14,000 ton grain...
BNSF #3002 leads two other 4-axle power through the curve east of the East switch North Dalles to points westward in Washington state. The grain cars right behind the power were probably added to the train in Pasco to move to the Vancouver/Portland area.
Portland & Western #2308 heading east on it's return trip from Clatskanie with 4 loads of lumber it picked up from a Weyerhaeuser Lumber industry. It picked up a BNSF centerbeam car with large dimensional lumber (12X12X36 -That is what a wrapper said.)...
UP #4068 is slowing down for a slow order at the yard in The Dalles, Oregon. The 3rd unit is the Olympic unit #2001. This manifest train is headed for Hinkle, Ore due to the closure of the Cascade Subdivision south of Oakridge, Ore. This train would take the long way to Roseville via Salt...
4449 at the Santa train 2007 at Oaks Park. NOTE: this photo was only re-sized for uploading, no cropping or manipulation of any kind was done. I really liked how she filled the frame exactly as I took the shot.
Here the Portland & Western Railroad Hillsboro Job towards Seghers Mill on the ex-SP trackage to switch out some empty woodchip cars for some loaded ones and a few loaded centerbeams. Seems like they do this job now with just one unit and run long hood forward 1/2 of the time.
Here is Amtrak #23 leading the Coast Starlight early into Portland's Amtrak Union Station. I like this shot because of the clock tower you can get in this shot.. This is from the SE side of Union Station.
Amtrak #10 is the doing the honors of switching out a bad order car after being wyed with the switch crew at Portland's Amtrak Union Station. Looks like it could use a bath from the looks of the dirty front-side..
Here is a single unit which is unusual for the Portland Section of Eastbound Empire Builder passing St. Cloud Road just minutes before meeting a train in the hole at Skamania, Washington.
Amtrak Empire Builder #28 is ready to depart an on-time departure from Portland, Oregon.. #192 is showing some slight dirteness on the nose on either side of the main headlights....
