KCS 4038 West is working one of the many hills that lay between Corpus Christi and Laredo, Texas. Another unit cut in the middle as a DPU has not been very helpful for this heavy manifest because its speed fell to 12mph for most of the climb.
KCS 4680 west leads a Mexico bound grain train at Alice, TX. The former Texas Mexican line between Corpus Christi and Laredo is plagued with numerous grade x-ings in every town. This train had unusual 1x1 dpu set-up.
TM 853 drags a cut of cars from the border bridge to its original Laredo yard. It is passing the former passenger depot (out of view left) when TM attempted to run its own passenger trains from Laredo to Corpus Christi (1988?). This was my favorite TM diesel.
