    BNSF SD70MACs at Progress Rail

    These units are there for electrical upgrades. The original Siemens inverters and associated equipment are being replaced with Mitsubishi inverters like those used in the SD70ACe. There should be either 6 or 8 SD70MAC's receiving this upgrade this year. Bryan Jones

    nice to get that pair together with the SP paint still in such good shape. They did a very nice job when changing the number of the SD45R from SP 7486 to 9486 when becoming a CEFX unit. Also both units still retain 20 cylinder prime movers, though the SD45 was rebuilt to DASH 2 specs under SP...

    Nice shot, nice to see the #4602 back in action now. Prior to being retired by CSX it was in MofW service and before that had long been assigned to Osborn Yard here in Louisville,KY and worked the bowl with 3 other straight SD40's. All 4 were replaced with R/C equiped SD40-2's. Glad to see one...
