    This is not an SD24, but one of the SD9s bought in 1989. It was rebuilt from the DM&IR 145.

    It is a truck. This one has 3 traction motors, one on each axle. The squarish thing on the left axle is the blower duct to keep the motor cool when running.

    I once caught a UP detour train at Scenic after a trestle burned on the line between Seattle and Portland. Don't remember what year that was.
