Went out yesterday with a friend and railfanned Scenic Sub. It was incredibly wet!
First up, empty oil cans going into a siding at Baring to pick up an air quality technician riding on a westbound stack train to bring him back over to the east side.

I'll try to bring more photos more often. Kids and work have kept me busy. A lot harder now to get photos since rail traffic is not what it used to be. My kids are young enough still that waiting an hour or more between trains isn't an option.
I plan on going into the mountains in a few weeks...

Thank you very much. This time of the year usually isn't my favorite time to do photography....a lot of brown and grey. Can't wait for spring and summer. Just need train traffic to increase. ;)

Seeing it in person I like it even more. I do like their old gray colors too but this is sharp looking. Clearly Starling likes red since he's responsible for the war bonnet colors for ATSF.

Hi Bill,
With my work schedule it's been very hard to get out, especially with winter's limited light. Now that longer daylight hours are here I can snap photos after work. Plus I had an actual day off today. :)

I would like to really go when things are green and not dried out from long days of summer. What's the latest I could go with things still green? I'm not too familiar with Wyoming weather so maybe I'm just thinking of Nebraska (Crawford hill specifically).

Thanks 728! This is really good info. WA is a bit like that weather wise although we don't get the severe weather like the midwest does so that is good to point out as well as the distance between towns. Even in E. WA the distance between towns isn't as big a deal as you would find in the midwest.
