Fictional MWC Railroad Paint Scheme Survey

Now with safety striping on both ends! Also did a boxcar. The MWC logo works really well in this application.

Fictional MWC Railroad Paint Scheme Survey

Thanks for the advice...that was another question of mine, whether to go with the V like some shortlines, or to go with the "peak", like the BN. I hope to incorporate the MWC logo on rolling stock...never thought about using it on switchers/slugs. That does sound like a good idea, since they do...

Here's a version, with safety striping on the short hood.

Fictional MWC Railroad Paint Scheme Survey

Hi all! I'm currently developing a fictional Class 1 railroad, the Midwest Connecting. More info will come with the soon-to-exist website, but right now, I'm working on choosing a paint scheme for the equipment. I've narrowed down my choices to six, all based on a combination of Rock Island's...

    progress/emd tier 4

Per Trains Magazine, EMD plans on having test units out by 2017, at the latest...until then, the ECO rebuild programs will be the only "new" diesels coming out, with the exception of the urea-treated F125s.

    IC E9s for Sale

Canadian National has placed IC E8s 100 and 101 (ex BN E9AMs built as CBQ E8s) up for auction...CN is still holding on to E8s 102 and 103 in CN paint for their business train. https://www.cn.ca/-/media/Files/About%20CN/Surplus-Assets/Locomotive-2014-Sale-Tender-EN.pdf

    BNSF Locomotive Renumbering

Another update: Having rode on the BNSF on the SW Chief, I was able to observe some renumbered slugs The TEBC6s (and all BNSF slugs) were renumbered from the 2xx series to the xx series, and the slugs did receive BN reporting marks, so as to not mess with BNSF's business car numbering. On units...

    BNSF Locomotive Renumbering

Thanks BNSFEng! Some pictures of 14xx SD60Ms have now showed up on RRPA, among other sites. Additionally, the B40-8 renumbering to the 5xx series has been confirmed, as SD70ACe deliveries approach the 86xx series. At least 1 has been renumbered so far, to 564...

    BNSF Locomotive Renumbering

BNSF is acquiring 275 more ES44C4s, to be numbered 8007-8281, requiring the renumbering of BNSF's SD60Ms, SD75Ms, and SD75Is. It has been confirmed that BNSF's SD75 fleet (8200-8301) is being renumbered into the 200-301 series. Those that were already in service at the time of this decision...

    LTEX Dash 8s

Thank you for the info! :)

    LTEX Dash 8s

That makes sense. I wonder what LTEX will do with these...they don't really fit in with Larry's other 567-powered locomotives.

    LTEX Dash 8s

It appears that LTEX has recently acquired some B40-8s/C40-8s from UP. They were photographed last month in Akron. The UP markings are obviously marked out, but I see no LTEX markings. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3685177 Anybody know if these are going to LTEX, or...

    Locomotive Bell HELP!

Could you post a picture of the bell? That might help me determine why it was dinged.

    Locomotive Bell HELP!

How long have you had this bell? Do you know where this bell would have been used (US, Europe, etc.)? That might help us figure out more about it.

    NS 3563 (B32-8) to Museum

NS 3563, a General Electric Dash 8-32B, has been retired from NS's roster and has been donated to the Lake Shore Railway Historical Society. It has been stored for over a year now after a major engine failure. This is from NSDash9.com and was mentioned in a Trains Magazine post on Facebook...

Nicknames for unique BNSF paint schemes

Not to mention the MK1200Gs...1200 and 1201 wore Yellowbonnet paint with BNSF lettering (like the BNSF lettered Warbonnets), while 1202 and 1203 wore BNSF H1 with a lighter green lettering than the normal black/dark green. 1200 and 1201 stood out the most, but they all wore a somewhat unique scheme.

    BNSF remote control SD60M

Not sure about this, but BNSF 100 (GP60M) also got the standard cab H3 scheme on it in early 2013, but it's a widecab. I personally like the appearance more as well. Both have the same nose shape (the early design with out the notched corners), so I'm not sure if that's a coincidence or if BNSF...

    BNSF Slug Renumbering

Thanks! So I'm guessing that the rest are still under the 39xx series, or did they retire the other ones?

    BNSF Slug Renumbering

From rrpicturearchives, it seems like BNSF is renumbering some of its slugs in the 261-271 range, right after the TEBC6 SD9 slug rebuilds. Some slugs from 3967 through 3977 have been photographed, with most being repainted into H3 if photographed, and the other just having a patch. Could...
