    When I rode the Zephyr back in June of this year. Almost all of the delays were given to use by BNSF. We racked up 5 hours worth of delays near Omaha waiting for a fleet of eastbound coal loads. The only real delay the UP gave us was not there fault. It was some semi that slammed into our train...

    While switching at CBC on the Meeker Southern last week rain was steadily falling all day. During the switching I clicked a photo of the rain soaked ground and cars. About 22 seconds later the heavens opened for about 5 minutes of pure hellish rain. Made for a interesting weather shift.

    Seen this morning was yet another UP coal load for Roberts Bank. This time it is viewed at CPS 154 or the south end of Sumner Siding.

    A busy day of switching and sorting cars at Meeker made for the impressive size train of emptys. 12 in all with a caboose on the rear carrying the brakeman while its conductor clicks a picture.

    While student engineering in Ballard we encounter a van parked to close to the tracks in perfect of a sign stating not to park on or near the tracks. Also a interesting note the building the sign is on also owns the van parked near the tracks.

    I tried a night shot of the Empire Builder near Sultan Washington on Stevens Pass. I was pleased with shot mainly because any car going down Highway two would have blown the lights out in the background. Instead for a solid five minutes not one car drove bye. Hear are the results.

    While preparing to ship 2100 off to eastern Washington for its uncertain future it went for a little run around the Port of Tacoma. They derailed on this curve near Tote down on the tideflats. After spending hours rerailing the loco they derailed it about 500 yards later on another sharp curve
