    BNSF 1551 Back In Seattle

BNSF 1551, the SD9-3 that worked the hump the Balmer hump in Seattle for many years, has returned. I haven't been to Balmer for a month or so, so I don't know exactly when it came back. Last I knew, it was at Topeka with a bad order main generator.

The Fine Line Between Legal And Lost

The "Train Shed Cyclopedia" can be found here: http://railroadtreasures.com/Railroad%20Collectibles.htm I noticed at the bottom of the page is a reference to "Cyclopedia on CD", but not yet a working link. They might already have plans on producing a CD, so all is not lost.

BNSF/UIP main tied up between Centralia WA and Portland on 12-1?

Great time for the post, Lee. I dusted off a bunch of old equipment and recently uploaded ATCS, and was watching it 12/1. I thought I had done something wrong, or wasn't getting updates, as "my" board was sluggish. Stan

A Question About a Strange Train (What is it?)

Sounds like a rail grinder. See if any of these look like what you saw: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22rail+grinder%22&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=7lG-Tp34MoShiALTipj8Ag&ved=0CCYQsAQ&biw=1250&bih=1239&sei=9lG-TsWoJKndiAKrmvn9CA

Great job KOMO. Show them what the key looks like. The only thing you didn't do was show the "keyhole".

Just heard something about a switching accident at Pasco WA. Involved at least one tank car carrying Ethanol which is leaking.

    KOMO TV4 Seattle Rail Security 11/7 @ 11pm

They won't mention anything about that, to do so would kill their slant on their story. The complete story never makes good news.

    KOMO TV4 Seattle Rail Security 11/7 @ 11pm

The preview shows a KOMO reporter and cameraman entering an unlocked, unattended, running locomotive. If I was the railroad, I'd turn around and use KOMO's video as evidence against them for trespassing. They also show some tank cars going by, I'm sure contents will be discussed, so just in...
