When the X-2000 roamed the Northwest. Pausing in Eugene, Or.
Thank you very much for this now nostalgic photo of
a beautifully designed high speed train.
I believe that this photo would have been dated early July of 1993.
I will post a bit of history here:
I first saw this train arrive heading southbound on the Sacramento to Oakland (Cal-P Line)into the SF Bay Area in California.
This exhibition train made one round trip from Oakland to Salinas then the following day ran roundtrip Oakland to Fresno on the regular ATSF Amtrak route. This train departed the SF Bay area southbound down the SP Coast Line to Los Angeles.
