CN has been retiring a lot of SD40-2/SD40-2W/SD50Fs lately, adding lease cancellation of 50 WC/ex-GCFX SD40-3s had made IC/GT/WC SD40s a regular sight now as 3000h.p. units are still needed on the mainline. Third time seeing this unit, once every month! No excuse for him on this run though, unless he will be lifting a whole train in Watrous the shortest 302 Ive ever seen.

That does sound short for a 302. Atleast it has autoracks. Nice catch, this WC SD40-2 deffinatley sounds like an odd-ball among the CN fleet.

Back in the day when CP had a massive SD40/SD40-2 fleet they wanted to buy these units from ACR, but they charged a hefty premium so the deal fell through. Don't feel bad for CPR though - they bought a bunch of QNSL units. Funny they're all off the roster now while the old ACR's continue working under CN's banner in WC paint.

The WC Units I used to see on the Togo Subdivsion 2 or 3 times a month,
now they are hard to fine.
