Parksville Water tower

This is one of 2 standing water towers on the E&N Railway, the other being in Port Alberni, BC used for the Alberni Pacific steam excursions.

The tower was located just south of the station but was moved to this location and restored when the MOW shops were expanded.

The rusty rails in the bottom right corner are part of the E&N Railway's Port Alberni Subdivision, until recently 85% of the E&N's freight traffic(it's bread and butter) came down the Port Alberni Subdivsion, but with the Pulp Mill in Port Alberni switching to truck the Port Alberni Sub has been closed since early 2002, except for a 5 mile stretch from Port Alberni to Bainbridge and the sight of the McLean's Mill Historic site.
