Hardin, Missouri Westbound. Nice weather, nice power. It is rare to find an SD45 leading these days, although I caught a WC SD45 leading at this same spot and same direction 2 weeks ago. Note: Camera date was wrong, this was taken on Sat. 4-16-05. :)

Actually, it's an SD40M-2. SP had units like this rebuilt during the mid-90's and derated to 16 cylinders (instead of 20 SD45's had) and max. horsepower of 3000 (instead of 3600). Even though it looks like an SD45 on the outside, it's all SD40-2 inside. But still, good to find an Espee in the lead.

I'd like this shot to be opened up more to see the surrounding scenery, else it's another 3/4 shot. Just my opinion.
 
Yeah, I knew it was not pure on the inside. In my humble opinion that doesn't matter, it is still an SD45 to me. :) The Logo was a half hearted job for sure, my train chasing buddy said the same thing. I have the opened up shot, but was limited to 300 mb, so I found a middle ground that suited me for posting. I will be posting to another site with less restriction soon. Thanks for the comments everyone!
