For a couple decades Saskatchewan's hopper fleet looked like this: http://tinyurl.com/35m8d3 (Chris Wilson's photo). Now they are being re-furbished and repainted into this new sheme.
You eyes are not deceiving you, his twin is right behind him on this Vancouver, BC - Humbolt, SK unit grain train.

MP 184 Watrous sub, same place I always go. The photo looks odd since it was taken from the North side, not the South side of the tracks where I normally railfan.

Now that's a good question. I've been wondering that myself actually, as I clearly heard them telling the RTC that they're Humboldt bound. I've also heard the train @ Newcross couple times before. Looking at the Sask. Rail map, perhaps they're detouring the PNL from Warman Eastward via the Yorkton sub, dropping hoppers off at slidings as they go. Last year 452/453 were taken off that portion of the line as well, they only run on the PNL from Warman westward. Maybe the track is really bad out there...

Only today was the 10mph slow order lifted by a foreman on the Abordeen sub between MP 16-66. No wonder 864 was detouring! Just like 103/104 who were avoiding the PNL last summer running through Regina.
