Ex CP MLW's

On static display in Cranbrook, BC is ex CP MLW (Alco) FA-2 4090 and FB-2 4469. These units started their career in the fall of 1953 here in the kootenay region of BC but were reassigned to the eastern part of the system within a few years. It is hopeful that funds will become available to repaint these units in the original CPR tuscan and grey livery. In the background you can see the preserved water tower and the old Elko station which was relocated to this spot from Elko, BC, 40 miles east of town.

Here is a shot of 4090 in revenue service taken in 1973: http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/cproster/locomotive/4000s/cp4090.htm

That is just a coat or two of primer applied to try and stop them from rusting away.
