Looks more like road construction then RR MOW to me.

Actually at this stage it is road construction. Once they get the roadbed in place they'll lay the second track and cut in the ends, one near where this photo is at Scholle and the other end at the mouth of the canyon at Sais.

Thanks so much for posting this. I have been wondering how the work was progressing. I spent some time down in this area last year. It was great. Please post more, as the work continues.

Thanks TracM99. I'll try to keep up with their progress. It's too hard for us old folks with arthritis to get close enough to the innards of the canyon (not to mention all the security)but Scholle is right where US60 crosses the tracks and should be a pretty good indicator of how they're doing. I knew they were starting on the process this year, but I doubt they can finish before next year.
