DNGO over Lake Lewisville

Over Lake Lewisville 9-4-03 this northbound DNGO train is taking the boxcar to a Coors distributor about a mile or so to the end of track. This was Katy's Dallas to Denton branch, which sees the maybe once a week boxcar to Coors. The track north of Coors to Denton has been eliminated. As a kid, we used to jump off this bridge into Lake Lewisville for kicks.

jumped off that bridge a few times, too, Shane..LOL..now I think back to how STUPID we were!!! I can remember back the Monday Feb. 28, 1989, the day we brought my youngest daughter home from the hospital after she was born on Feb. 23..I had to go to Denton to cover a high school baseball game, So Grand Prairie at Denton ...that was the first day of the regular season and it was colder than a witches' you know what...but I saw a MKT train with four units and probably a string of 25 to 30 cars on it coming across the bridge and headed back to Carrollton or where AA Center is now in Dallas.. and that was after UP had taken over the MKT..by the way, that same daughter is now a freshman at South Grand Prairie!!! time flies huh...
