Crushed Gevo

BNSF 5942 was the lead unit on a southbound C-JRMSLP230A (Jacobs Ranch Mine, WY -- Smithers Lake Power(Houston)) coal train that entered an open switch in Cactus, TX and hit a cut of cars on a spur track. Both crew members survived the wreck with only minor injuries.
OUCH!!! the main thing the crew is alive, any word why the switch was open?
I'm assuming that locomotive will be rebuilt.

Thanks for the comments everyone. ES44AC, the switch was left open accidently by the brakeman on the 081 local which was ahead of this train. The biggest problem about it was this is dark territory. Mike here is a photo of the inside of the cab: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1111161
