Nice shot of the newly painted GP's. I like that hopper on stilts. Is that used for sand storage?

Thanks for the comments. Yes the hopper on stilts is used for sand storage. Not sure what the status is on these units - they are 2 of 5 ex-C&NW re-builds.
 
Hey, I shot those 2 diesels in Greenwood back in September of '94! They were sharing the ready track with some ex-FEC GP7s and several CF7s. IIRC, there's also a covered hopper on stilts there for sanding. The CF&s and GP7s looked the worse for wear, and the CF7s looked to be in storage at the time.

Must say I like the green & yellow paint.....
