Homeland Security/Star Wars/Rocket propelled Hi- Railer??? This Hi- Railer has it all,on the roof rack there are 2 foward viewing cameras & one satellite dome,on the rear are 4 cameras 2 looking back & 2 looking down at angles at the tracks & one rear GPS pod.The two rocket tubes on each side&torpedo tubes?Joking aside I think this vehicle is a mobile geomerty vehicle or maybe make a real time video for a traim simulator the pods on the side a probably for acustics/the cameras give a front and rear view the tubes for storage and the cable running down to the rear wheel a odometer.

Now there's a project you can do in your garage! Just get a ladder, attach to your cars roof and tape a video camera to it. Good old school tec.

The equipment shown here is for capturing 3D geometric data. This creates a 3D "point cloud" which can be used in CADD (Computer-aided drafting and design) software. This is pretty high-tech stuff that saves uncounted hours over traditional surveying techniques. Great capture!
