NPR 2286
NPR GP9 2286 hasn't changed since she was built way back in 1957 for the Grand Trunk and Western. She was retired when I was one year old (1991) then sold to Kansas and Southwestern where she kept her number 4912. Now 53 years later she is switching for the Bowbells Sun praire terminal with NPR reporting marks. She was built longhood forward and if you get up close to her hood you can see the GT logo.
Nice pic. Time has taken it toll, but she still doesn't look too bad (or a sr. citizen). Just out of curiosity, what's in the cage on top of the short hood?

R
It's for protection so that theifs don't steal it and sell it to railfans on ebay.
