BOP 98

Former gp7u ATSF 2258 is now BOP 98. Here it crosses Military Rd as it travels westwardly to Rio Grande City. At one time, this shortline connected directly with UP as a former Mo-Pac branch, but since 1992 it connects with RVSC. Its UP-like colors were established prior to UP's trademark/heritage court battles.
This is what I heard from one of the guys that works for BOP, they had the chance to paint the loco just about anyway they wanted but BOP's owner? or manager? (I forgot which one) wanted it UP colors. He contacted UP and the UP told them as long as they didn't have the UP shield or any other UP logos they were free to use the scheme. The guy I talked to said that the original ATSF scheme would've looked really nice....
