Caboose Comeback?
I know, its only a riding platform. Still interesting to see a caboose on the end of a train though. I wonder how many other BN green cabosses are out there with the new Swoosh logo on them....
Thanks everyone. If this caboose was Southbound on Friday, it didn't spend a lot of time in K-Falls. This was a Northbound taken around 3:30 today (6-29-09).
 
Interesting that it still has BN reporting marks. I don't think that there are any cabooses with BNSF reporting marks.

what is the purpose of this type of car (riding p;atform only) and why is it not like a normal caboose why block the windows and such is it empty inside and are the doors sealed?
 
Thanks for the ratings everyone. As far as I know, the doors are welded shut on on these riding platforms, although I'm not sure why. I'm not positive what they are used for, but there is one in stationed in Redmond just north of Bend.
