Back in old stomping grounds

Rerouted down California's central valley due to washouts on the former Southern Pacific Coast Line, UP's unit oil train pauses at Edison, CA, roughly halfway between Bakersfield and Sandcut, on the night of January 13th, 2005. This scene harks back to the days when SP's original unit oil train, dubbed "The Oil Cans", was a daily sight on the line south of Bakersfield and through the Tehachapi Mountains.
