Default Out in the cold, Saturday on the NS Louisville District

Saturday 02/03/07 dawned as a clear, very cold day. Snow from last week was still on the ground, and a nice 25mph wind kept the temps even lower. I had to head out for a few errands early, and took the camera along. The Louisville district sounded busy, but things where plugged up. 376 was having air troubles at Waddy, plugging up the RR.

First stop was at Lawrenceburg (Ky) for the standard roster shot of T19's power tied up for the weekend. NS GP60 7147 had the honors again this week.

376 was still stopped at Waddy, and Two Westbounds, 160 and 22A, where by Talmage. I went to a spot that I had only shot once before to try my luck. Here is 160 at East Lawrenceburg, passing over old US 127. I shall skip the 22A shot..it looks about the same.

After taking care of a few things, I met up with Shack later in the afternoon to shoot a few more. 376 finally got moving, and a fleet of eastbounds followed. Train 223 had to recrew, and we got him at Nevin.

Next up was a 167 with a farily new GEVO, NS 7513, leading. Here he is rolling through the big city of Vanarsdale KY.

We caught up with 167 again at Harrodsburg, but the clouds runied my shot.. 167 stopped just East of town to wait on 223 to clear up, allowing for a couple of angles of him at Bellows mill road.

The Eastbound parade continued to roll, and 111 followed close behind 167. Not having time to move to a new location, we shoot him at the same place. The wind has done a good job of stripping the snow from the ground by this time.

After 111 got by us, we moved over to North wye. 287 was tied up on the CS main there, but was ready to go West.

The last shot of the day, 287 as he rolls along town branch creek at Harrodsburg.

I was on 22a and we picked t19's engine up yesterday morning. Where you standing on the corner across the street from the hardware store with an NS hat on? I've seen your pics many places on the internet and the quality is outstanding, keep up the good work.
