On September 28 of last year I headed for Spokane to attend a high school reunion. Just south of Ritzville I came across the first of many stopped trains. It was an eastbound grain train. At the west end of Tokio siding was a stopped intermodal. (Next two photos).

At the east end of Tokio siding within sight of the intermodal an eastbound autorack held the main.

A few miles further east an eastbound grain train was stopped at Keystone. By this time I was wondering what was wrong.

From the rest area at Sprague I could see another grain train stopped at Sprague siding.

At Fishtrap another intermodal was stopped waiting.

Just short of the east end of Fishtrap was this westbound manifest stopped on the main. There were several MOW trucks in the area. Don't know why but this train appeared to be stalled.

At Lamphier (Missile Base Gravel Pit) was this westbound intermodal waiting for the mess ahead to clear.

One more westbound was waiting at Babb although I was running out of time and didn't get any photos. The next day the sub was back to normal.
