I am currently working on BNSF's La Junta Sub between Dodge City, Kansas & Hutchinson,KS.

A few miles east of Dodge City I saw these 2 units parked; I don't believe they are being used. There are several large grain elevators that may have used them at one time.
I was able to get this shot as we drove past them this afternoon; I'll try and get a better pic.

My 1977-80 Burlington Northern annual lists 1702 as former Northern Pacific GP9 202, assigned to the Camas Praire Railroad. It was rebuilt with a low front hood in 1979 at the old GN shops at Hillyard (Spokane) WA. after tumbling into the Clearwater River near Lewiston, ID in 1976.

If this is the same unit, maybe it got wrecked and rebuilt a second time and BN didn't bother installing a cab.

Does anyone know the history of BNSF GP9B 1702? From its Cascade green paint, it looks like a former BN unit, but not necessarily BN 1702 if it was renumbered after the BN+ ATSF merger.

looking to correctly identify this loco, I have parts needing replacement and want to order correct ones. Its in malaysia, and they keep telling me its a class 22, which it cant be, as its diesel, electric transmission. (its not a class 21 or 29 either)

Is there a builder's plate, or can you find the frame/serial number?
