John Day River - UP5777

I spent the first four days of October down on the BNSF Seligman Sub in Arizona. When I got back I see "BRIDGES" as the photo assignment. Other than two very ordinary highway over passes, I don't think there is a single shootable bridge on this otherwise very scenic piece of track.
I figured I was doomed until I got a call from Rick Newton, fresh from an Alta-Montana weekend wanting to shoot in the Gorge. I made it from the office via bus to the house for the camera and on out to The Dalles in about 3 hours. After a long train free afternoon we headed up to the John Day River Bridge and managed to catch a couple of westbounds. My good fortune was compounded by a clean 5000 series GE. Hope you like it.
